Looking for a penpal
I have been thinking lately that I would quite like to have a penpal.
I am in my late twenties. I like books, long conversations, cooking for people, films, music, wandering around unfamiliar places, and thinking far too much about ordinary things. I write about life, memory, culture, food, people, and whatever else happens to catch my attention. I am equally happy talking about a book we loved, a ridiculous thought we had at 2 a.m., something we cooked recently, a film that ruined our evening, or why we suddenly remembered something from fifteen years ago.
I suppose I am looking for the old-fashioned kind of penpalship where letters do not have to arrive immediately and conversations do not have to have a particular purpose. You can tell me about your day, the city you live in, the books on your bedside table, something you have been thinking about, something you cannot stop listening to, or something completely inconsequential that made you happy that week.
You do not have to be from the same country, speak the same first language, or have the same interests. I think the fun of writing to a stranger is finding out how differently two people can look at the same world.
If you think you would enjoy exchanging occasional letters, send me a mail (ishygoel@gmail.com) and tell me a little about yourself. Maybe we can become two strangers who slowly stop being strangers.
